  • Abstract
Power quality monitoring forms part of the processes oriented towards solving specific problems. Considering this aim as preferential, Iberdrola has implemented several power quality monitoring processes with criteria adapted to the requirements of each case. For monitoring operations whose aim is to comply with Spanish legislation, priority is given to observance of standards EN 50160 and IEC 61000-4-30. In this case, there are important differences between obtaining zonal indices and checking individual customer supplies. In monitoring operations destined to provide service to its customers, the Iberdrola approach is that the results must prove valuable for the customer, independently of the regulatory considerations. For these cases, Iberdrola has also opted for two differentiated strategies, monitoring of the disturbances coming from the network and monitoring oriented towards internal problems or maintenance. In all cases, the regulations in force are an important help, but do not manage to define all the points that must be taken into account for the implementation in practice.
