Abstract :
Code assignment on the downlink is considered for multi-carrier CDMA systems. In a fading channel, a user may experience different performance with different assigned codes. Therefore, a good assignment, which effectively utilizes the channel characteristics, may improve the performance for the user. We determine optimal assignments that maximize the total throughput or minimize the total latency. Simulations show that major improvements can be obtained through suitable code design and optimal assignment.
