Abstract
A new timing control scheme, named as pair-synchronisation, is proposed for synchronous reverse link in CDMA systems. This scheme employs the received signal(s) to generate the timing reference instead of using a common reference from system timing of the receiver side. Analysis and numerical results show that this scheme can further improve the reverse link capacity by achieving better orthogonality while reducing the forward link overhead for closed loop timing control.
