Abstract :
A novel distributed multicell multistage amplifier structure is presented in this paper. This approach enables the design of multicell multistage power amplifiers based on distributed transistor arrays (multicells). Measured data of 40-device monolithic power amplifiers in the frequency hands 25-30GHz and 28-34GHz are also presented. The amplifiers have a small-signal gain of -15dB, a 1dB gain compression at output power (P1dB) of ∼32dBm and output intercept point (OICP3) of ∼38dBm. Measured results are compared with computed data.
