Abstract :
The field inside a well working reverberation chamber is commonly considered as a statistical field: With varying stirrer position the field components are virtually independent from each other and the field energy is χ(6)2-distributed Since the inverse of this statement is not always true it is not sufficient to specify the reverberation chamber by a good behavior of the statistical parameters. It is shown that particularly in the case of simulated fields the use of statistical parameters derived from simulated data only might be misleading.
