Abstract :
ARQ can guarantee an almost error free reception. But in traditional ARQ schemes, all packets are transmitted with the same modulation mode, which makes its performance poor in fading channels. Adaptive modulation (AM) is an efficient way to improve spectral efficient of the system. Combining ARQ and AM will give a more promising performance. In this paper, the throughput of SR-ARQ schemes with adaptive modulation systems is analyzed. Simple analytical expressions are presented. Numerical results from the analysis and some discussion are given.
