Abstract
A soft-spectrum impulse radio scheme with multi-band pulse waveform adaptation and shaping is proposed, which can be applied to the co-existence, the interference avoidance, the matching with regulatory spectral mask (e.g. FCC spectrum mask), and high data rate. In the paper, the soft-spectrum adaptation proposal has been discussed in detail. Different kinds of soft-spectrum pulse waveforms with various shapes, envelopes, as well as their corresponding spectral features are investigated. Achievable BER performance simulations for these multi-band pulse waveforms are also carried out under AWGN environment.
