Abstract :
Summary form only given. We present results of our recent experiments on propagation of light beams in 1-dimensional discrete optical structures. By utilizing photorefractive nonlinearity we created dynamic optically induced refractive index gratings which were then used to investigate propagation of one and two-dimensional light beams in both linear and nonlinear regimes. Appearance of various Bloch modes and formation of localised discrete structures and their bound states are discussed.
