Abstract :
This paper analyzes the influence of gate signals differences on the voltage across the switches of an isolated flying-capacitor DC-to-DC converter. This converter features zero-voltage switching, operation at constant frequency, regulation by pulse-width modulation, and half of the input voltage across the switches, if the control signals applied to its switches present no differences. The operating principle, theoretical analysis, and relevant equations are provided in this paper. Simulation and experimental results are included, in order to verify the theoretical analysis.
