Abstract :
A new single-phase hybrid power filter is proposed. It is used to compensate the harmonics and reactive power caused by the traction loads. It is a combination of a TSF (thyristor switched filter) and an APF (active power filter). A basic control strategy of the hybrid power filter is introduced. Then a new control strategy of the hybrid power filter is introduced. Then a new control strategy is proposed. A medium power experiment system is founded, in which the power rating of load is 1 MVA. Some experiment results are given to demonstrate that the proposed filter is valid. The analysis and experiment results show that the hybrid filter has several advantages.
