Abstract
This paper presents the design and the practical experience with a power system stabilizer based on the h(infinite) theory. It shows how the model can be implemented in the IEEE 421.5 models, tuning and the practical experience is presented in details. The model-based approach using h(infinite) optimized PSS offers several advantages especially if a digital automatic voltage regulator is used.
