Abstract
This panel discussion summarizes experimental work that is conducted to establish the validity of models for 3-phase distribution transformers. The discussion reviews a classical method to obtain the admittance matrices both in the phase domain and in the sequence domain and the assumptions adopted in the derivations. Measurements on actual distribution transformers are then reported to show the validity of the assumptions and consequently of the model. The differences in the mutual admittances between the various windings are analyzed and their relevance to accurately represent core type transformers is stressed.
