Abstract :
This paper considers uplink power control for lognormal fading channels by a stochastic control approach. We seek approximate solutions to the HJB equation for the centralized optimal control. To compute the resulting local polynomial expansion, we construct a set of approximate equations and propose a recursive algorithm; this is applied to solve a two user system for illustration. To reduce implementational complexity for systems operating in large population conditions, we show-that a single user based control may be applied to give partially decentralized control.
