Abstract
Based on modern active vision techniques, a new methodology for plasma shape reconstruction has been developed. This approach leads to a new formulation of plasma boundary as a continuous contour and allows the definition of control relevant parameters, which appear to describe the discharge evolution in a quite realistic way. In this sense, using the whole curve information or the shape descriptors derived from it, either a total shape control or a shape parameter control can be designed.
