Abstract
The paper presents a formal user methodology for evaluating the quality of Internet search engines. A large number of experts and organizations in the world are engaged in developing and updating methods for evaluating the quality of search engines. There are no national or international standards on methods for evaluating the quality of search engines. The offered method is a less-expensive and less labour-consuming procedure than all earlier known methods. The method differs in that, first, it is checked whether the search engine fulfills the rules of its information searching language, and, then, the quality is evaluated according to the generalized vectorial criterion.
