Abstract
The basic cooling theory about evaporation-cooling technology for large generator has been studied in China since 1958. But to immersing evaporative cooling stator, only the former research is not enough, it needs to analyze its electric and thermal fields, and design a new insulation structure, so that evaporation-cooling technology can exert better actions and improve the cooling effect of generator. This paper gives some calculations and simulations by utilizing an unique and reasonable principle of coupled electromagnetic and thermal fields. The results prove that the new kind of stator insulation structure introduced in this paper is superior to the traditional ones in cooling effect and reliability.
