Abstract :
The magnetic fields of a linear induction motor (LIM) with cage-type secondary are analyzed using finite element method (FEM) according to the variation of the moving secondary position. Thus thrust and attraction forces as a function of the secondary displacement are calculated. Also the secondary bar currents distributions at the various positions of the moving secondary are investigated.
