Abstract :
Introducing the concept of equivalent currents, this paper proposes a very simple mathematical model for a magnetically-saturated controllable reactor (MSCR). When the primary windings of two identical transformers are positively series and the secondary windings are negatively series, an equivalent circuit for such kind of reactors can be thus derived. This circuit exactly manifests the physical discipline of the mathematical model. Based on the power system blockset (PSB) of Matlab, a simulation model for a MSCR is constructed. Subsequently, a simulation analysis is demonstrated. The results confirm the presented method.
