Abstract
This paper introduces a kind of automatic interleaving approach. In this new approach, a kind of distributed control circuit is adopted, which makes the system have the ability of automatically accommodating varying numbers of converter cells and high tolerance of subsystem failures. Since no other line between the cells is needed except the input/output buses, the system possesses higher stability than that with some traditional methods. In this paper, the main circuit structure, as well as the block diagram of the control circuit is illustrated. The principle of the automatic interleaving without interleaving bus is described in detail. A three-cell DC/DC converter prototype basing on the approach has been developed and some experiments have been made. The experimental results show that the approach is valid.
