Abstract :
The matrix converter connects the three-phase power supply with the three-phase load directly through a switching matrix composed of four-quadrant switches. In this paper, in order to evaluate and improve the performance of matrix converter, some experimental tests in typical abnormal conditions have been carried out. A 2.2 kW three-phase to three-phase matrix converter prototype is implemented based on DSP and PLD (programmable logic device) for the experimental tests. The operation of matrix converter with unbalanced power supply has been analyzed.
