Abstract
Compared with a conventional electromagnetic attractive levitation system, a hybrid levitation system with permanent magnets and electromagnets can improve the lift/weight ratios, and reduce electromagnetic power consumption at the same air gap. It has been proved to be a very effective approach with great potential for application in magnetic levitation. This paper presents the analysis results of thrust force, lift force and lateral resilience force in a hybrid levitation model vehicle system in our lab. These results of calculation and analysis provide important guidance to the design of the model. The experiment verifies the calculation results.
