  • Abstract
    In this paper, the 3D temperature field of 220 kV SF/sub 6/ current transformer (CT) has been calculated using finite element method (FEM). In concrete calculating, the coordinate transformation and automation meshing have been applied in the computation preprocessing. The maximum temperature rise within the SF/sub 6/ CT has been obtained. Moreover, the temperature distributions of whole calculation region have been computed, and the typical distributions of different sections have been figured out. The design basis can be provided for developing the insulation performance and examining the temperature rise of high voltage SF/sub 6/ CT.
