Abstract :
Different from most other researches focused on wideband radio channel characteristics, this paper presents a large-scale field-test campaign with WCDMA-FDD system, whose system equipment configuration strictly conforms to the specifications of 3GPP R99 and requirements of C3G (China 3rd generation) mobile communication system. Three different areas in Beijing are tested, representing three kinds of typical urban propagation environment in China. Based on the ample measurement data such as multipath power delay profile, signal envelope fading and channel SIR (signal-to-interference ratio), we classify the tested radio channels and analyze their channel characteristics in detail.
