Abstract
This paper describes techniques used in the detection of modulation schemes and their implementation in the software defined radio (SDR) systems for 4th generation (4G) mobile network. These techniques are divided into two groups: maximum likelihood approach and pattern recognition approach. Theoretical information on these methods are presented. Their strength and weakness are discussed. A general model of the 4G SDR system is proposed.
