  • Abstract
The depth detection technique using the one-side band hologram of an object was proposed [T. Kim et al., 2002]. However, in the proposed technique, depth range of the object should be located inside of the Rayleigh range of the hologram. This restricts the depth detection technique to a remote sensing and matching two-dimensional (2-D) aspects of objects. In this paper, we propose a technique that detects the depth location of an object whose depth range is longer than the Rayleigh range of the hologram. By use of the detected depth location of the object, we recover the hologram of the object at its depth location. Since the hologram is recovered at the object´s depth location, we can compare the whole three-dimensional (3-D) aspect of the object with that of a reference object without depth searching.
