Abstract :
This paper focuses on the algorithms that convert the logical addresses to the physical addresses in utilizing flash memory devices. The logical address is given by the data host, and the physical address is the actually mapped address inside the non-volatile memory. This conversion is necessary because of the characteristics of the memory. Basically, the conversion is done with a look-up table which records every physical address change for a logical address. All of these algorithms are feasible in implementation. Their advantages are described individually. The choice depends on the look-up table size and allowed access time, etc.
