Abstract :
In this paper, we analyze the crosstalk character of the twisted pair which essentially refers to the unintended electromagnetic coupling between pairs and can be divided into Near-End crosstalk and Far-end crosstalk. In very-high-speed data communication system design, especially in 1000 BASET, the Near and Far end crosstalk influence the system performance such as BER largely. In order to help system designer to design the equalizer or other circuits which are used to recover the signal transmitting from twisted pair and estimate the system performance, we present a new method to simulate crosstalk of the twisted pair in data communication. This method not only can give designer both amplitude and phase information about crosstalk but also can generate various virtual twisted pairs which can be put into the whole system so as to do simulation and to estimate the system´s performance.
