Abstract
An experimental investigation of the optical properties of mid-wave infrared (MWIR) InAs/GaSb type-II superlattices (T2-SLs) with different compositions is presented. The temperature-dependent absorption spectra of MWIR T2-SLs are extracted from optical transmission measurements. The results show that the optical properties in T2-SLs are closely related to the composition of the superlattice. The absorption coefficient increases with increased temperature, due to bandgap narrowing. The influence of scattering/broadening on the shape of the absorption spectra is also discussed.
