Abstract
This paper presents an adaptive howling canceller using adaptive IIR notch filter. The robust and fast, sign-sign LMS, algorithm is used to adjust the notch parameter. For the implementation of the howling canceller, we use the TMS320C50, digital signal processor, to process in the fixed-point number system. The experimental results for different conditions are revealed that the proposed system can cancel the howling rapidly and efficiently.
