Abstract :
In this paper we will give an overview of our cross-platform software framework for the development of medical simulations in the field of surgical planning. We use state-of-the-art technologies, like XML, CORBA and a scalable, component based architecture to build a highly extensible software development platform which provides the researcher with high-level services to build new simulation applications more easily.
