  • Abstract
A whole cell simulation model is constructed of various functional elements such as ion channels, transporters and mitochondria. Because so many theoretical models for each functional element are proposed, we should evaluate and select one model for each element in order to construct a whole cell simulation model. For the purpose of constructing accurate simulation model, we need to evaluate each theoretical model for that purpose. In this paper, we propose the "contextual evaluation" method which evaluates each model by the simulation result of the whole cell model containing the evaluating model. We performed this evaluation on the two contraction models of cardiac cell. Experimental results show the effectiveness of our method.
