Abstract
Teratech Corporation is developing an electronic-sonar system for imaging and obstacle avoidance to be integrated into a low power, compact marine vehicles. This sonar system will switch between 2D imaging and 3D obstacle avoidance using a dual purpose planar array. The system incorporates a low power design to preserve the vehicle´s ability to conduct extended range missions. The capability of the sonar is a result of the development of application specific integrated circuits based on Teratech´s proprietary Charge Domain Processing (CDP) technology. The intended application is for reconnaissance in shallow and very-shallow waters.
