Abstract :
A servo stabilised panoramic sight was subjected to detailed EMI-EMC evaluation at subsystem level before integration in a vehicle. The processing electronics of the optical signal converted to electrical was investigated in detail for the performance short falls on account of poor EMI design of the system. The test results and EMI hardening measures are discussed. After thorough redesign, this product qualified for meeting the total performance objectives and revealed it is free from EMI-EMC problems. This is a subject of critical importance to functioning of a weapon platform that was finally system evaluated in the vehicle. The product passed all system level EMI evaluations too.
