Abstract
This paper discusses about the interaction of EM field with underground objects during it´s penetration in the ground. The importance of this study stems from the fact that this field can interact with the interconnecting underground cables and systems and thereby can cause mal-functioning of the systems. The paper briefly discusses the theory about the computation methods for the EM field coupled with the underground cables. Approximations and limitations in the computations and simulation are summarized. Brief account is also given for the proposed underground simulator.
