Abstract
Controlling conducted emissions in the system which is operating on AC supply is not an easy task for design engineers and EMI engineers. Maintaining ground integrity between AC line filter and chassis is the essential parameter to get the rated attenuation. If we consider and implement EMC aspects during the development of system, even then we can not assure the product is EMC complied until its performance is evaluated with real loads/situation. Finding out the noise coupling into the system is difficult task. Once it is known, incorporation of components like inductors, capacitors, ferrite beads, surge busters to suppress the noise is easy. In this paper the authors expressed their views about with standing against EMI and EMI hardening techniques used to achieve EMC.
