Abstract :
An effective technique to estimate the voltage data external to the near field measurement region in the cylindrical scanning is developed in this work. It is based on the nonredundant sampling representations of the electromagnetic field and uses the singular value decomposition method for extrapolating the outside samples. It is so possible to reduce significantly the unavoidable truncation errors in the cylindrical near field-far field transformations. Numerical examples, assessing the accuracy of the technique and its stability with respect to random errors affecting the data, are presented.
