Abstract
A smart antenna system for indoor base stations is proposed and its capabilities verified. The theory is derived using the reciprocity theorem and the radio channel equalization. It is shown that such an array can remove deep fades due to destructive multipath interference at the terminal antenna side. The proposed antenna array is tested on theoretical Rayleigh channel model as well as on measured radio channel, from measurements within a test room at 450 MHz.
