Abstract :
In this paper, a vector distance histogram based adaptive vector filter is proposed for the restoration of color images contaminated by the channel correlated impulse noise. Test results on natural image have shown that the new method is superior in suppressing impulse noise while preserving high image details with a marked performance gain over existing state-of-the-art filters.
