Abstract :
The paper addresses the problem of carrier and timing synchronization for MSK modulation. Based on a second-order and a fourth-order statistical variable, an efficient data-aided algorithm is proposed to estimate the frequency offset and timing error, respectively. Numerical results show that the proposed algorithm achieves good performance in both AWGN and Rayleigh fading channels and it outperforms previous data-aided synchronization algorithms, even in fading channels.
