Abstract :
We investigate sequence assignment on the uplink for multicarrier (MC) CDMA systems. In a fading channel, a user may experience different performance with different assigned sequences. Moreover, since different users experience different fading characteristics, careful assignment may yield improved performance for the whole system. We utilize the channel characteristics, and determine the optimal assignment that minimizes the total power for the system. Simulations show that major improvements can be obtained through suitable sequence design and optimal assignment.
