Abstract
A great expansion of collaboration in intranet as well as Internet access results in a rapid progress in accelerating network speed, which can be a foundation of high quality real-time services over the network. With this and cost reduction benefit, users´ strong requirements for various multiservices are expediting network services to be gradually converging over an IP-based network platform, especially in intranet-based enterprise and campus LANs. In this paper, we propose a quality-of-service-supported next generation convergence local area network architecture under development, which can provide a variety of multimedia services over an IP-based single network infrastructure.
