Abstract :
In this work, WCDMA based RoF uplink system evaluation for asynchronous case has been investigated. As the 3rd generation wireless communication technology uses WCDMA standards to support the broadband services, RoF technology will be an appropriate candidate. This study proposes a novel double spreading mechanism, both in wireless and optical domains for the cascaded RoF systems. The simulation studies on BER performance for different number of users using OVSF codes and M-sequences in wireless domain and Walsh-Hadamard codes for OCDMA in optical domain have been carried out and found to be almost same. Hence in view of less system complexity and cost, the proposed double spreading technique would be an ideal solution for cascaded RoF systems.
