Abstract :
This study addresses the problem of reconstructing the Young´s modulus from an uniaxial strain field estimated from ultrasonic data. We suggest to improve the classical Tikhonov-based approach by allowing for the preservation of edges. This produces better solutions, both qualitatively and quantitatively (up to 6 dB improvement in contrast-to-noise ratio).
