  • Abstract
We emphasize how developing remote sensing activities could be useful for an engineers´ school. Because remote sensing is at the crossroads of very different scientific fields, this multi-disciplinary theme is particularly well adapted to sensitive engineers of tomorrow to the great challenges of this millennium such as environmental problems. Most of the educational projects start by image processing. We propose to start by the acquisition of the images. So, the first challenge to our students was to realize a complete acquisition chain for receiving meteorological satellite signals in collaboration with other students. After a brief presentation of the context of the study, we detail the technical aspects of this chain, the problems found and resolved. Then, we detail pedagogical interests from the point of view of the students, the point of view of the educational team and some benefits for the school.
