Abstract
The Soil Moisture and Ocean Salinity (SMOS) mission of the European Space Agency is currently under the industrial Phase B. The definition of the mission is being consolidated as to the different attitude pointing modes, platform-payload interfaces, payload configuration and subsystems specification. Phase B will be completed by the end of 2003 with the Preliminary System Requirements Review.
