Abstract
An assessment of SPOT 5 products, i.e. VHR and derived products, for forest management and windfall damage mapping has been carried out over of the Alsatian Region in NE France, principally over the Forest of Haguenau. This area has been badly affected by the devastating storms, Lohart and Martin, that struck continental Western Europe in December 1999, destroying the equivalent of several years of normal forest exploitation in France.
