Abstract :
We deal with the inverse scattering problem of reconstructing a dielectric object from the knowledge of its scattered field focussing attention on the resolution limits achievable in the reconstructions. We cast the problem in the framework of a two-dimensional and scalar geometry and consider the case of strip dielectric objects both parallel and orthogonal to the observation domain assumed to be bounded rectilinearly and located in the near zone. We address different sensing configurations (multistatic/single-view/single-frequency and multimonostatic/single-frequency) and perform the analysis by means of the singular value decomposition of the involved Born scattering operator.
