Abstract
The power industry is a tremendously competitive, low margin environment with many suppliers across the globe. This paper proposes a drastically different paradigm in how business is approached in the power industry. This paper discusses some of the areas that IBM has been changing its approaches and processes for acquisition and delivery of power systems. The challenge to the power supply industry is to provide IBM and other OEMs with total solutions. This is a challenge of cooperation, collaboration and information sharing that has not been experienced anywhere in the electronics industry.
