Abstract
To realize the harmonic-free utility interface of rectifier power system, the control and design issues of a shunt active power filter with consideration for the unbalanced load is presented and analyzed in this paper. Some details about the digital controller using a DSP based on synchronous reference frame, including the hardware synchronous, software design and soft-startup are presented. Furthermore, to guarantee satisfactory compensating performance, some design issues such as the AC side inductance for rectifier considering its effect on the compensating characteristics is discussed. Experimental results obtained from a I5 kVA prototype verify the viability and effectiveness of the shunt active power filter.
