Abstract
This paper describes the European energy efficiency policy to improve energy efficiency of external power supplies. The EU code of conduct, which is discussed in this paper is an important platform for promoting energy efficiency in power supplies in Europe and elsewhere in the world. The revised code of conduct with the inclusion of on-mode efficiency criteria would bring additional savings of 30 TWh per year by 2010.
